i was recently asked to shoot a portrait of david monn in the LIC costco for town & country. this is the kind of shoot i love, where i get access to someplace i would never have as a regular shopper. we got there early, before costco opened to the public. for a couple of hours we had the run of the place. everyone at costco was extremely accommodating. we spent the next day photographing our costco purchases, prepared and served up monn style. special thanks to eddie leida who did such an amazing job with the layout and creative direction. i don't know where he gets all his positive energy but it was all i could do to keep up with him!
eddie had asked me to shoot some costco signage, in case he could work it into the layout somehow. he didn't end up using any but photographing environmental details is one of my favorite things to shoot. i greatly enjoyed showing some of the culture and the workings of the space, all with signage.
